Assignment6: Hate and the Internet.
- 1.Hate speech is a communication that carries no meaning other than the expression of hatred for some group, especially in circumstances in which the communication is likely to provoke violence. It is an incitement to hatred primarily against a group of persons defined in terms of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, religion, sexual orientation, and the like. Hate speech can be any form of expression regarded as offensive to racial, ethnic and religious groups and other discrete minorities or to women.
- 2. Fundamental rights of freedom of speech is each person’ s right should be allowed, but launch aggressive to others or attack others should be banned.
- 3. I don’t think so. Because different countries have different cultures, so sometime something could be allowed in one country, but these things might be limited in others.
- 4.There are many programs could figure out the dirty words. However, some guys could use other ways to post articles to others. Like, sending e-mail and writing articles on the BBS.
- 5.I think they should burden the responsibility, because they create these Websites to let people to visit. And then, the crime happen followed.
- 6.I think this should not be limited, because it would not cause a big problem on children.
- 7.Yes. Hate speech on line might be allowed. Due to this, you attack people in daily life is illegal.
- 8. I think we could use different ways to treat the online things like hate-speech. The hate-speech might have a direct and a greater in influencing society.
