Steps to create a web page

Downloaded the pagetemplate.html from Blackboard to my computer

Open the file in Notepad and SAVE AS a new filename

Enter the element and text content for the page

All tags are in lower case and enclosed in <>
The main page secion tags are: html, head, body
The main text blocks are headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, and lists.

Save the page every time you make a change or add data

Open the page in a browser to view the content and layout

Make edits and changes in Notepad, and save again

Refresh the browser to view the changes made to the page

Page elements in Chapter 2.

  1. The head tag defines information for the browser.
  2. The body tag presents text and media content on the browser window.
  3. Most tags are paired, they have an opening and closing tag.
  4. Some tags are self-contained such as a line break or horizontal rule.
  5. Heading tags are paired and present text in different font sizes.
  6. Paragraph tags are paired and will wrap text automatically.
  7. Blockquote tags are paired and will indent text.
  8. Lists can be numbered, bullet, or definition structure.
