Help Wanted
This is the pilot for the Spongebob SquarePants Show. The episode opens with an introductory glimpse of the aquatic community of Bikini Bottom. Spongebob is an ecstatic, hyperactive, and anxious young sea sponge. He prepares to fulfill a lifelong dream and passion by applying for a fry cook job.
Bubblestand
SpongeBob opens a stand for blowing bubbles and later sells lessons for blowing bubbles, each for 25 cents. Much to Squidward's annoyance, he tries to show Spongebob that anyone can blow bubbles and Spongebob's idea is stupid, even though Squidward is having trouble blowing a bubble. Spongebob and Patrick try to demonstrate to Squidward how to blow a bubble. Squidward, believing that SpongeBob's demonstration is crass, mockingly repeats it, and not surprisingly, a giant bubble is blown by Squidward. Unfortunately later, the bubble comes toward Squidward's house with himself inside it, carries his house upwards, and pops.
Tea at the Tree Dome
SpongeBob meets a squirrel named Sandy Cheeks. She is fighting a giant clam. Sandy invites him over to her house. However, when SpongeBob arrives, he is surprised to find that there is no water. This makes him unable to breathe properly. He then spends his time trying to find some air. Patrick later comes into the Tree Dome to remind SpongeBob about drinking tea in a fancy fashion. He soon discovers that there was no water in there Hence he cannot breathe as well. Sandy later finds out that both SpongeBob and Patrick needed water when they look shriveled up. She fills glass bowls with water, and puts them on their heads to solve their problem. They can now breathe.
