History of Durham House of Pets
Durham House of Pets started in 1994 after John Critter retired from his full time job as a financial advisor at Capital Bank. He truly had a passion for animals, and wanted to start a whole new career for his retirement doing something he always loved and enjoyed. John started out selling various animal products online until later aquiring a building and opening up his own store. He first started selling dog supplies until realizing his business was doing really well, and expanded his inventory to cat and fish supplies. After the first year, John could not keep up with the business and had to hire employees to work under him. Durham house of Pets has just celebrated its 18th anniversary and is expanding to two more locations in New Hampshire. Durham House of Pets is privately owned and continues to grow.
