Choosing the Right Drum Heads
The next thing on the list is drum heads. The drum heads go on either side of the shell, this is what you hit to make a sound. But each shell requires two different types of heads. The head on the side of the shell that you hit is called the batter head. These heads are specifically made to take repeated impact. The head on the opposite side of the batter head is called to resonate head. These heads are designed to reverberate the sound made by you and are thinner as a result. The big companies here are Remo and Evans.
