A Little About Me and This Web Presentation
My name is Samuel Galletta and this is my attempt at a decent webpage to fulfill the requirments for my CS403 class.
I've decided to do this presentation on the drum kit. I started playing the drums when I was 14 years old and still play them today. They are an integral part of my life, something I've invested countless hours of my time into to get to the skill level I am today. They also seem to be where all my extra money goes as well. I am never satisfied with my kit and am always adding on. However the drums are not just an instrument to me or something to hit when angry. The drums give me a voice and allow me to escape everyday life. For those few moments when I'm playing all the impurities of life dissolve, and all that is left is joy. Currently I'm the drummer for my church's folk band.
Each page of this presentation covers all the major topics that go into buying a drumkit and setup. Keep in mind that there are an infinite amount of possibilities when it comes to building a kit. I have just skimmed the surface as far as what to look for. I am by no means telling you what to buy, I am covering the major companies and dealers to give you a good foundation. When it comes down to it the best way to figure out what you personally are looking for in a kit is to go to your local music store and try various drums, cymbals, hardware out. Most places are very open about letting you see what differant things sound like so you can pick what is right for you.
All the kits displayed on the layouts page I built with the help of DW drums' kit builder. If you would like to check the kit builder out for yourself please go here.
