Founded in 1993 by Jon Donnelly Sr., Donnelly's Advertising Agency began as a family based business. It was first set up in Cape Elizabeth Maine, but soon profits made exceeded what the family expected. The decision was made to move to New York City in 1998. The agency was signed by companies such as Nike, The NBA, and Subway. The current CEO is Samuel Donnelly who is a second generation within the Agency. He attended University of New Hampshire.
