CURRENT PROJECTS

 
Professor VanDeveer's current areas of research interests and projects include the following:

(1) Environment and trade relations between the United States and Europe, and environmental policy changes in European states and their relation to international cooperation

(2) Development and implementation of a climate change action plans and initiatives in New England, the Northeast and across North America

(3) The role and impacts of the growing use of scenarios in international environmental politics (see the Watson Institute scenarios project)

 
(4) Assessing the development and effectiveness of contemporary international efforts to build and legitimize “Fair Trade” campaigns and certification schemes for agricultural products and reduce corruption within extractive industries with the “Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative”
