Assignment 4: Hate and the Internet.
- Hate speech is any thing said that is derogatory or purposefully malicious and hurts another's feelings.
- I would not advocate putting limits on free expression because this country is the land of the FREE and the home of the brave. Any limitation in freedom is a breach of our constitution.
- Countris have a hard enough time on agree what to do with the UN forget trying to get general internet consensus about an issue.
- I believe censorship of some hate groups is appropriate if they post on another website and they violate the terms and conditions of that website. But if they have their own website then I think that it is far game for them to say whatever they want.
- if there is physical or informational proof of the owners instigating or exacerbating hate crimes then yes, they should be held responsible.
- I would absolutely advocate software to restrict children from accessing hate crime on the internet.
- No there should not be, however if someone must hack anthers computer to access their "illegal" content on their computer then the one who hacked shall be in as much trouble as the one who committed the crime.
- Pornography is a billion dollar a year industry so i do not believe that it is in the same categories hate-related material, although it is lewd and should be inaccessible for children.
