Hi! My name is Stacy and this page is to tell you a little about
myself and my love for music and the bands that create the music.
And not just any type of music, but music with a message: a positive
message!
I have been a Christian most of my life, but I grew up
with Country music in my family. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy
some Country music, but my passion is for Christian bands and their
music that spread the love and message of Christ to their listeners.
These bands have incredible musical talents, but one thing I've learned
is that music, in and of itself, is not "Christian". The lyrics, that
accompany the music, are what make the song a Christian song.
I think it would be impossible to count them all, but much to your
surprise there are over 200 Christian bands throughout the United
States, from the O.C. Supertones in Orange County, California, to P.U.R.E. from New Jersey. I have had the
best time at many Christian music festivals and
enjoy getting to hear all the different types of styles that Christian bands
possess. No, it's not all gospel-like music, with organs and hymns, but the
Christian bands I listen to are rappers, rockers and punk rockers. You even
have the choice of metal, reggae or hip-hop.
But the one thing the music
has in common, like I said before, is the message.
I have been going to the Inside Out Soul Festival right here in New Hampshire since 1999, and have only missed one year. Up until this past summer it has been held at Loon Mountain in Lincoln, but it was held at Gunstock in Gilford because the festival outgrew the area at Loon. For the first time I volunteered at the Soul Fest and got to work with some bands and at their merchandise tables. Basically, I got to hang out with awesome bands like P.U.R.E., The Secret Club, Adelaide and The Roosevelts. I worked so much that I didn't even get to see some of my favorites bands! But that's alright because I go to plenty of shows throughout the year!
