Will Chase's CS403-04 Assignment 4a

HomeAssignment 4b

Theme
The theme of my final project will be a guide on the basics of hitting a baseball and also give training tips which could be used either by beginners or more experienced baseball players to improve their hitting skills. Many sites on the internet don't provide the best information on how to improve and can bring along bad habits for some of the people who do what they say. Also, many of the sites on the internet don't mention the physical training part at all whereas I will go into depth on workouts that can be done to improve core strength, leg strength, and arm strength; the three major muscle groups used in hitting baseballs.I will als go step by step through the mechanics of the swing where it will be organized into the different parts of a swing. Pre pitch(batting stance and things like that), The load (the step taken as the pitch is coming), and the swing.
Goals
My goal for this site is to help inform young baseball players the correct way to play which can in the long run keep them playing baseball. Hitting a baseball is one of the hardest things to do in sports and even the slightest problem in a swing can result in a very poor swing and many kids become frusterated because they aren't having success batting and if some of them read this and improve their swings, it can potentially keep more kids playing baseball in the long run because they feel more accomplished playing and feel like they have improved. I don't really have to do much research for this project since I have played baseball all of my life and have also coached baseball teams for the last two or three years. There will not be too much maitnence required for this site since mechanics for baseball don't really change. I will however add links to other websights showing excercises that can be used to improve strength for swinging a bat.
Navigational Theme
The navigational theme for my website will be a hierarchial theme. This way, since there will be a limited number of links, viewers can skip to whichever part of the swing they want tips on or they can go to the different training methods and drills. This makes the most sense since most people viewing the site won't want to look at every part of the swing, especially the more experienced baseball players who are looking at the website.
