FAMIS IS NOW AVAILABLE.
FAMIS Emergency Hardware Upgrade: July 12, 2005
FAMIS will be unavailable from 5:00 PM July 11th until 1:00 PM July 12th.
WHAT: The Facilities Asset Management System (FAMIS ) is in the process of being migrated from its original servers (computers) to a more stable environment, the CIS Unix Cluster. The completion of this migration is scheduled to occur on July 12th, 2005.
WHY: The current (original) servers that support FAMIS have reached their life expectancy and as a result are experiencing rapidly increasing problems. Because of other demands upon its time, only very recently has Facilities IT been able to attend to this critical issue.
Before July 12th - WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
1. AD Account - You need one: Most FAMIS users have an active AD account. Facilities IT has identified those of you who do not and is working to ensure that you have an AD account prior to July 12th. As soon as these accounts are established, Facilities IT will distribute new account information to the appropriate supervisors.
If you do have an AD account, however do not remember the username and/or password, call the Help Desk at 862-4242. You will need both your username and password available prior to July 12th.
2. VPN (Virtual Private Network) - This must be installed on your computer: Starting July 12th, all access to FAMIS will be through a VPN. Those of you that use BANNER already have VPN installed. Those who do not have VPN installed should follow these steps:
