2009 Film Awards

Oscars are Garbage.

The Oscars are garbage. I have the real winners for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Screenplay & Best Documentary right here!

Every year I watch the Oscars, and I almost never agree with their choices. Last year, Sean Penn won Best Actor over Mickey Rourke. I couldn't believe it. Mickey Rourke's performance in The Wrestler was phenomenal. To avoid further disappointment, this year I've decided to eschew the Oscars in favor of my own year end awards.

The most important thing for any award is the name. Given my name, the obvious parallel to The Oscars would be to call my awards The Owens, but I am not quite that egotistical. Besides I don't want to parallel the Oscars, I want to supercede them! (Ok, I'm pretty egotistical.) With this in mind, I will name my awards The Ultimate Movie Champions!

My categories will be similiar to the Oscars. I will award UMC's for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Screenplay and Best Documentary. There will be no awards for supporting actors or actresses because in order to be an Ultimate Movie Champion, you have to be a star. Adapted Screenplays and Screenplays Written Directly for Screen will not be separate awards as is customary at the Oscars. For the UMC's they will be placed into one category because only one screenplay, regardless if it's adapted or written directly for screen, can be Ultimate Champion. If you do not agree with my choices, fill out the survey and let me know what you think.

The Ultimate Movie Champions:

1. Best Picture

2. Best Actor

3. Best Actress

4. Best Screenplay

5. Best Documentary

6. Survey
