Community Dinners

Community Dinner Picture

Community Dinners to promote sustainability and ease hunger in our community! Come and enjoy a delicious, healthy vegan and vegetarian meal with other folks in the community. Designed for folks who can use a simple, good, wholesome meal, and to promote sustainability and community. Co-sponsored by the UNH Organic Gardening Club, Waysmeet Center, and the Cornucopia Food Pantry. Donations of food are always welcome, and volunteers are welcome, too, from 2:30pm on!

Drum Circle

Drums and music makers provided, or bring your own to share with us. Volunteers and food welcome also!

Soup Group

Come join us as we share a home made meal of soup, bread, cheese, fruit, cookies and beverage, check in with friends and folks who are just waiting to greet you, and to engage in lively, interesting and respectful discussion. We will explore the various ways we can be flames of hope and beacons of light in a world of shadows, and ways we can put our ideals, belief, faith, hopes and dreams into real action to create a world safe for all people. Vegetarian soups are usually the norm, and always one of the options.

Retreats

Once a semester, we will go on a weekend retreat to a contemplative community in the area (NH, Maine, Vermont or Massachusetts).

To signup for a retreat, please submit our online form.

Afghans for Afghans (aka The Knitting Circle)

Afghans for Afghans Picture

Join us to learn about a humanitarian, educational, people-to-people project that sends blankets, hats, and other hand-knit and crocheted items to the people of Afghanistan. Come share the wisdom across generations and help knit Afghans for Afghanistan.

Women's Union

A collaboration of UNH and community womens groups working together for a safer, healthier and more equitable community.

Connections

A new program connecting UNH students and community members from the Community Church of Durham and the Lee Congregational Church to provide a home away from home. Call us at 862-1165 to get connected!
