Assignment #6: Hate and the Internet.

  1. Hate speech is a speech which vilifies a person or a group, it include any languages, gestures or behaviors.
  2. Yes, I would advocate placing limits on free expression. In today’s world, everybody wants to have free speech on public or internet, but because of some people’s hate speech which harass country’s order and destroy country’s unite. Government should set a limit on free speech which cannot vilify a person or a group.
  3. I think we should attempt to reach an international consensus on how to define hate speech and on the standards, because hate speech already influence people or group even country’s order. If we set an international consensus, if could promote country’ s develop.
  4. This is necessary, because Internet is a place which government really hard to manage. If government do not filtering those hate speech, the internet will become really chaotic.
  5. Yes, because those people who start hate speech lead people commit crime, those criminals’ mind kind of controlled by those people. They have to charge of what they said to the public.
  6. Children’s education is really important for their life, so take good education in their childhood and avoid those hate speech or violence is really important, because it will influence them what they will be in the future.
  7. I think what they said will not vilifies other people or their mind could be the line which judge if it is legal or not.
  8. It depends on the severity of the issue, government will give line which judge the issue is serious or not.
