History

Durham House of Pets was originally founded in Lakeville, Massachusetts by owner, Nathan Angus back in 1962. Seizing the opportunity full on, Nathan scooped up the market share for pet supplies after realizing that there was no such store in the area and that local super markets failed to provide different types of pet food. Before the company was actually rooted and had its own location, Nathan ordered different types of pet food from distributers in Rhode Island, and sold the food out of his garage. His company started off with a few loyal customers and has grown significantly over the years. Today, DHP is no longer a garage run company; It now has its own store nearby Nathan’s first garage-based location in Lakeville. From the original line of products including dog, cat, and fish food, Nathan has greatly expanded DHP’s inventory. We are now proud to offer various types of Dog Apparel, Cat Toys, and Fish Tanks in our line of products. With your support, we hope to expand more in the future!
