This website has been created for the purpose of all Timesplitters series fans who are looking to find out more about Timesplitters 2. This game is a challenging and innovative first person shooter which has revolutionized the way multiplayer games are made and played. I have writen this guide from my own experiences with the game, so if you have any corrections or improvements to make, let me know in the comments section of the website.
Timesplitters 2 was developed by Eidos and was released on 2002 in North America on Playstation 2, Xbox, and Nintendo Gamecube. The game features a story mode in which the player(s) take on the identity of a space marine and travel through time looking for time crystals. What exactly are time crystals? They are alien artifacts from the year 2401 can be used to travel through time. This sounds pretty cool- the only problem is that the Timesplitters are using these crystals to go back in time and change events in the history of mankind so as to destroy them. It is your mission as a space marine and a member of the human race to follow them through time, fix their wrongdoings, and retrieve the time crystals.
The game also features a Challenge mode, in which quick objectives must be met in a timely fashion. As the name suggests, this is one of the most challenging aspects of the game (some of them are quite difficult). The completion of these challenges rewards the player by unlocking content that was previously unavailable to them, such as new characters, maps, and modes of gameplay.
Where Timesplitters 2 really shines is in it's Arcade mode, in which one to four players may play against a number of bots in a variety of modes of gameplay (elimination, shrink, virus, bagtag, capture the bag, assault etc). The variety of modes of gameplay as well as the customization of game options and bots make for tremendous replay value. Whether you feel like playing an objective based game, or just feel like shooting anything that moves, the Arcade mode is sure to entertain you (and probably for way too long).
