During night of May 12/13, 2009

i the village of Gharo located 4 kms outside of Sharana, Paktika Province. A firefight erupted as resistance fighters attacked the outskirts of Sharana. Pro-government forces called-in U.S close air support, A home was bombed, killing Mohammad Rasool, his son, and wounding his wife. Allegedly some “militants” were also killed. We only know about this incident due to the independent reporting of Pajhwok Afghan News.
