On March 31, 2009

on the Sarkhkan-Mehtharlam highway in Laghman Province. A convoy of U.S occupation forces hit a civilian car, killing a woman and child and seriously injuring two other civilians. Abdullah, a witness, told the independent Pahjwok Afghan News, that the foreign forces also opened fire on the car after the accident. Angry people staged a demonstration soon after the incident blocking the road. Only the independent Afghan media – Pahjwok Afghan News and the Afghan Islamic Press – reported the incident.
