on
January 29, 2009 in a compound in
Arghandab
district, Kandahar Province. U.S. occupation forces and Afghan police
allegedly
searching for a “Taliban suspect” entered a compound and firing broke
out. A
resident, Abdul Nabi, told Agence France Presse that “one father, two
sons and
a guest were killed in the foreign forces’ raid.” Other persons were
arrested.
Predictably, the U.S. propaganda media said its troops killed “four
militants”
in an operation against a Taliban bomb maker. In a new twist clearly
aimed at
news management, the U.S. statement said 9 women and 17 children
present in the
compound remained unharmed during the operation “due to the precise
actions of
the coalition (sic) forces.” Only Agence France Presse found this news
worthy
of reporting. Killed
