in Kanda Gul village in the Pech Valley, Manogi district of Kunar. According to even the governor, NATO (US)-led forces came under fire and retaliated by firing mortars into a village. The result was predictable: 3 dead women, 11 injured including 6 children. Basir, a resident, told Pahjwok Afghan News that mortar shells had struck the homes of Malang and Aziz-ul-Rahman where the casualties occurred. The western corporate media was totally silent about these deaths.
