in the Maywand district of Kandahar Province. NATO occupation forces were approached by a vehicle and fearing an attack, fired. The result was predictable: another two seriously wounded Afghan civilians who died shortly after being shot. As usual, an occupation force representative, Brig-General Denis Thompson of Task Force Kandahar, commented “civilian deaths are always regrettable.”
