Two children killed

A woman injured

during the night of July 8/9, 2007

in a home in eastern Paktia Province. U.S.-led forces raided a home, sparking a gunfight. Shots fired into the home killed two children, a man and injured a woman, casualties admitted to by the occupation forces. The U.S/NATO forces claimed that the raid was intended to capture a “Taliban mid-level commander,” one Commander Saleem, a claim which could not be independently verified. As usual, a U.S. major, Donald Korpi, asserted that shots were first fired at the U.S-led raiding party.
