at night on May 27, 2008 in the Korengal valley of Kunar Province. The U.S admitted that “precision munitions” had been dropped on “various insurgent positions” on the basis of information from locals. A villager, Haji Mia Gul, told the independent Agence France Presse that he lost 14 relatives – six women, 4 children and four men. In addition, he brought three wounded family members – a woman and two boys - to a hospital in Jalalabad. A hospital doctor admitted treated 3 persons for shrapnel injuries.
