in the Korengal valley of Kunar Province. The U.S admitted that “precision munitions” had been dropped on “various insurgent positions” on the basis of information from locals. A villager, Haji Mia Gul, told the independent Agence France Presse that he lost 14 relatives – six women, 4 children and four men. In addition, he brought three wounded family members – a woman and two boys - to a hospital in Jalalabad. A hospital doctor admitted treated 3 persons for shrapnel injuries. The mainstream western media ignored the attack. The Kuwait Times carried the story.
