Satik, 6 Turial, 10 Pardes, 15 Abdul Rasool’s wife Alam Gul’s two parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters died at 5:00 A.M. on October 11, 2001 in the village of Karam, 40 kms west of Jalalabad. U.S bombs struck this impoverished hamlet of farmers, demolishing dozens of homes, wiping out entire families. Abdul Rasool, 40, said that his home was destroyed, killing his wife and his three sons – Satik, Turial and Pardes. He escaped death because he had risen before dawn to attend morning prayers. He said, “I heard a huge bang and I ran to my house….my family, all my animals are dead. I have nothing left…” Alam Gul, 18, said he had lost both his parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Sher Ali Hanfi the director of Jalalabad Hospital said, “we have at least 15 children here who have lost both parents.” A U.S. “precision” strike |
