In memory of

Sardar Mohammed, 20

died on October 21, 2001

in the village of Shakar Dara (Shakardara, Shakar Darra, or Shakar Darreh), a Pashtun village, 20 kms north of Kabul in Kabul Province. U.S warplanes bombed the village where allegedly a training camp in an old fort just outside Shakar Dara had existed in the 90s. The “precision” strike cracked Sardar Mohammed’s skull and also injured two young boys – Matiullah, 7, and Bashir, 5, who both suffered leg injuries – as reported by the Italian Emergency medical group.
