Said Amin Jan Padsha, father

died on December 22, 2001

near the village of Grikhel in the area of Tora Bora in Nangarhar Province. A poor peasant farmer, Said Amin Jan Padsha, father of five, was scavenging for wood, according to his brother, Shrin. Said tripped on a U.S cluster munition which exploded and blew apart his body. His fellow scavenger collected his body parts in a basket and carried them home. At home, his remains were put on a cot and covered with a pink blanket before the burial.
