In memory of
the mother of Saboor Gul, 11
died at around 2 AM on July 1, 2002
in the village of Kakarak in Uruzgan Province. A U.S gunship, the AC-130 Spectre, attacked the small village where a wedding feast was in preparation. Saboor Gul, 11, was injured and brought to Kandahar’s main hospital, where she spoke, “…the airplane was very big. I was up on the roof when a bomb landed and we ran downstairs. After the second bomb, I was unconscious and someone brought me here…I am scared (she said looking at two foreign journalists). They are Americans and they bombed us.” Saboor’s mother was killed. The U.S “precision “ strike upon three small villages killed over 60 innocent Afghans and injured over 100.
