In memory of
Raz Mohammad, 9
shot on June 5, 2003
one of several civilians shot in Laka Tiga village on the road between Khost and Gardez in Pakita Province. U.S helicopter-born soldiers descended upon the village of Laka Tiga. The local military chieftain – once on the U.S. pay – Bacha Khan Zadran sent out his son, Abdul Wail and a bodyguard, Zadran Bacha, to meet the U.S troops to discuss the massive house-to-house searches in the area. A U.S soldier opened fire on Zadran killing him instantly. U.S soldiers fired upon several Afghan civilians driving past the scene in a mini-van and also hot Raz Mohammad, 9, who was sitting under a mulberry tree.
