Maulvi Muhammad Wali, a religious scholar

In the village of Latak, about 6 kms east of Khost city. We only know about this killing, raid and abduction because of the independent Pahjwok Afghan News, no mainstream western media made any mention. Pahjwok reported,

US-led coalition troops have killed a scholar of a religious seminary in the southeastern Khost province, officials said. Coalition troops killed the seminary scholar late on Sunday night in Latakhi area on the outskirts of the provincial capital, Shah Mahmud, a resident of the area said, who added that the troops killed Maulvi Muhammad Wali after breaking into his house. He added the troopers have also taken family members of the scholar. "Our Imam had no links with the Taliban guerrillas or with the al-Qaeda network" he continued. But Arsala Jamal governor of the province confirming the incident said the scholar has opened fire on coalition troops.  He added the soldiers have taken seven suspects with them in which three of them were family members of the scholar. The coalition troops had also killed a cricket player while searching a house in provincial capital of the same province a month back.  

Killed by U.S. Special Forces-led raiding party in middle of night
