Malika(7)’s mother, father, sister and brother

killed during the night of July 1, 2002

in the village of Kakarak in Uruzgan Province. Malika, 7, injured, was brought to Kandahar’s hospital by her uncle Anar Gul. Anar said she was the only survivor of her close family. The U.S. “precision” attack by an AC-130 Specter gunship killed over 60 Afghan civilians who had gathered to celebrate a wedding on July 1, 2002. Malika’s mother, father, sister and brother died in the hail of U.S. rockets and cannon fire.
