died at 8:30 P.M on December 5, 2001

in the village of Sokhchala about 20 kms north of Kandahar. A resident, Malika, said, “we were not the Taliban, we didn’t know the Taliban, we were just sitting in our house” listening to the radio when three U.S aerial-born projectiles slammed into her house and one next door. The U.S “precision” strike killed 5 of Malika’s relatives, injured 6 others, and killed one neighbor. Two of Malika’s children, Roholha, 6, and Maimona, 17, were severely injured and brought to Kandahar’s Mir Wais Hospital. Malika said she could not find a driver that night to bring her children, “the driver was too scared. He said I will not go because the planes in the sky will blow us up.”
