In memory of

Maji Mohammed’s uncle

died on October 27, 2001

in the neighborhood of Lungar, 2 kms east of the Center of Kandahar. Maji Mohammad, 32, recalls, “I saw the aircraft which was flying low, very slowly. It was shooting continuously” The firing killed his uncle and damaged a nearby mosque. His description fits the AC-130 Spectre gunship which had been strafing Kandahar since October 15th. Maji’s uncle was hit so many times that only his hand remained. Maji asked, “why are they killing common people in the civilian population? They are forcing us to stand up with the Taliban against the Americans.”
