Khalifa Gada, carpenter, son of Baba

killed between November 25 – 28, 2001

in the heavy bombing of Qala-e-Jangi, the fortress area 10 kms west of Mazar-i-Sharif, Balkh Province. The prisoners held in the fortress revolted and a major air and ground assault by U.S. and allied forces ensued leading to the massacre of hundreds of prisoners. The surrounding areas were also hit. Khalifa Gada, a carpenter, was killed. Research on the ground and photo provided by RAWA.
