Died on November 1, 2001 In the village of Ishaq Suleiman, a warren of mud huts perched outside the city of Herat with a Taliban base over 1.5 kms away. U.S warplanes targeted the base with scores of cluster bombs. The brother of Ghulam Nabi, 60-yr old Hajji Mohammed, did not survive. His house was wrecked by a cluster bomb. For a week, the U.S continued cluster bombing the area. AREA, a German-funded NGO, reported that 12 civilians were killed and 14 wounded. U.S warplanes drop cluster bombs |
