In memory of
Haji Sardar, tribal elder
His seven family members
around midnight, Wednesday, December ¾, 2008
in the Sahak area of Zormat district, Paktia Province. U.S ground and air forces attacked a compound in the middle of the night with the predictable result: a dead village elder and seven of his family members. Residents of Sahak insisted Haji Sardar had no links with the Taliban. U.S. military sources proclaimed that “coalition” forces had killed two militants “while protecting five women and nine children.” No evidence provided. We know about the locals’ accounts because of the independent reporting of Pajhowk Afghan News. No other western media mentioned any dead civilians.
