In memory of

Daraz Khan

Jehangir Khan

Mir Ahmed

Died at 3 P.M. on February 4, 2002

On a high bluff above the Zhawar caves in the mountains south of Khost. Three poor men from the village of Lalazha had walked ten miles to the heavily bombed area in order to salvage scrap metal (a camel-load of twisted steel brought 50 cents in the Pakistani border area). The U.S fires a missile at the three men, justifying the strike because they were “three tall men.” In Lalazha village, the villagers said the tallest was 5’ 11”, nicknamed “Tall Man Khan.” Daraz’s 16-yr-old niece, said, “Why did you do this? Why did Americans kill Daraz? We have nothing, nothing, and you have taken from us our Daraz.”

A U.S Predator drone fires a Hellfire missile at the three day laborers, killing them instantaneously.
