Burjan Khan’s 2 fellow taxi riders
died at 10 A.M. on December 7, 2001 on the highway between Kandahar and the border town of Chaman. Burjan Khan who escaped with minor injuries was traveling with a group of fleeing persons in a taxi. He said, “the jet came and dropped 3 or 4 bombs. Our taxi was hit and two passengers died on the spot.” U.S warplanes were targeting anything that moved on highways as the Taliban had abandoned Kandahar the day before.
