In memory of
A young boy
killed on October 29, 2001
in a dusty village on the outskirts of Kabul. U.S. warplanes bombed an ammunition dump. The young boy died from the explosion and was buried. At his funeral, a professor of Islamic theology warned the assembled mourners of their fate should they shirk their duty: “those who run from this bombardment, will not be included in those who make it to paradise” (reporting by Philip Smucker in CSM 10/30/01).
