In memory of

At least 11 civilians

during the night of August 16/17, 2008

in two bombing incidents in Ghazni Province. The first took place in the Nawa district which had been taken over the day before by some 100 Taliban. The district administration and police forces fled. The Nawa district area was bombed resulting in the deaths of 4 civilians (including a woman) as well as 8 resistance fighters according to Nawa’s administrative chief. In Moqor, local district officials said overnight bombing had killed 7 civilians, mostly women and children. The western corporate media ignored these attacks and we only know about them because of the independent reporting of Pajhwok Afghan News reporter, Sher Ahmad Haidar.
