in a air strike upon Zurmat district, Paktia Province. A Paktia governor spokesman, Rohullah Samoon, told Agence France Presse that a “coalition air strike” (which in the region means a U.S. air strike) intervened in a firefight with resistance fighters. The bombing killed two civilians and some “fighters.” The incident was never reported in the western mainstream press though was picked up in the Kuwait Times (May 29, 2008).
