In Sympathy for
An Afghan man, injured
gunned down on July 9, 2007
on a road in Paktika Province. NATO occupation soldiers shot the driver of a vehicle. An eyewitness, Abdul Majeed, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the driver pulled over his car as a NATO convoy approached. He was seriously wounded when NATO troops fired upon him as he came out of the vehicle when asked to do so. Not surprisingly, a NATO spokesperson offered a different version: a Major Corpi of U.S-led forces at the Camp Salerno base in Khost confirmed the incident and said the Afghan defied warnings from NATO soldiers not to get close to the convoy. He was then shot.
