In memory of
A mother and her child
died on November 26, 2001
in a village some 190 kms north of Mazar-i-Sharif, close to the Afghan-Uzbekistan border. The utter recklessness of high-flying air drops (height provided safety to U.S. pilots) by the U.S. Air Force is illustrated here. A U.S. cargo aircraft dropped a 1,200-1,800 lb pallet with wheat, blankets and cold weather gear upon this village. The heavy container fell directly upon a home, instantly killing a mother and her child. The Pentagon only confirmed the incident but offered no apology.
