In memory of
Amir Khan’s 4 cousins
died on November 2, 2001
in the village of Esferghich at the foothills of the Safi mountains in the Shomali Plain. Two U.S Navy jets dropped 12 “precision” bombs upon the village, damaging virtually every house in Esferghich. Amir Khan, 20, fled to the hills when the U.S bombs started exploding. Khan returned later to find the bodies of his 4 cousins. He said he kept the bodies in the ruins of him hone for two days before arranging for a car to take them to Kabul for burial. He returned to live in the ruins of his two-storey adobe home along with his and two other families.
