A father’s two sons

killed on November 11, 2001

on the North Road leading out of Kabul to villages northward. U.S. warplanes bombed a bus carrying about 35 passengers, killing at least 8. Al Jazeera showed live TV-footage and said the injured and dead were taken to hospitals in Kabul. An elderly man was shown lamenting before the body of his son in a hospital. He had lost two sons. He said he had cautioned them not to go on the bus, but people were going out of the city to try to find wheat. The report showed a young boy covered in bandages who lost many family members in the horrible attack.
