A civilian man driving a truck laden with fruit

at 8:30 P.M. on Thursday night, September 18, 2008

in Kandahar City. A “jingle truck” (a colorfully decorated small transport truck) laden with fruit approached a Canadian occupation convoy. The driver allegedly failed to head warning shots and the Canadian soldiers fired cannon on a light-armored vehicle (LAV) into the fruit-bearing truck. A male was killed. An internal investigation was announced, but as in the past the outcome is a foregone conclusion: exoneration of occupation soldiers.
