A child in Rozi Khan’s village

died in night of July 1, 2002

in the hamlet of Miandao in the Deh Rawud district of Uruzgan. U.S war planes attacked a string of small villages in the region. The first such attack was on Kakarak where many had gathered to celebrate a wedding on July 2nd. Rozi Khan’s village of Mazar was also hit, killing a child and injuring 8 other people. She asked, “we migrated here to escape drought. Why was our house targeted?”

A U.S warplane carried out a “precision” strike.
