Abdul Qadir, a shepherd

killed on January 30, 2004

close to Dobandi, a small Pakistani border town, near the Afghan-Pakistani border in the Chaman area. U.S. ground forces in the well-established mode of firing first and asking later, killed a Pakistani shepherd, Abdul Qadir, and seriously injured his two colleagues, Janan and Gul Zaman. From the Chaman Civil Hospital, Gul Zaman recounted, “we were in search of our goats in the area and crossed into the Afghan area mistakenly upon which the American forces opened fire considering us to be Taliban.” They killed Abdul Qadir on the spot.
