In memory of
Abdul Qadar, 25, a shepherd
severely wounded on November 27, 2001
in the semi-nomadic village of Zar Karez, located east of the highway between Kandahar and Chaman. Abdul Nader, 30, described what happened, “The U.S bombs were raining over the village. The bomb divided into many, many bombs. They were spreading over a 400-meter area.” His brother, Abdul Qadar, a 25-yr-old shepherd was eating a meal of buttermilk and bread when the U.S cluster bomb knocked him unconscious. Qadar received shrapnel wounds in the back and a severe injury in his pelvis. The U.S cluster bomblet will kill anyone within 100 meters of its explosion.
