A 2-yr-old girl

killed on October 20, 2007

in front of her home in Helmand Province. A soldier in a NATO occupation force, presumably British, convoy fired at a car. The occupation forces said the bullet apparently missed, ricocheted and hit the two tear-old girl in her head. She died shortly afterwards while receiving treatment. NATO immediately offered the standard platitude about “deeply regretting the death of a child.”
